Challenges faced by Companies while searching for Candidates

In this blog, we can discuss Challenges faced by Companies while searching for Candidates

Hiring Process of Company and Constriction for Freshers:

Searching for Candidate

Let’s Interpret this Model

Being a start-up company, there is a need to recruit freshers every year. We need to hire 6 candidates.

Skills Needed by Employers:-

Ø Should possess knowledge of the latest technologies.

Ø Should have at least basic certifications.

Ø Should have industrial projects experience.

Ø Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Ø Adaptable to the industry.

Ø Willing to learn and implement.

Interview Process to Recruit 6 Knowledgeable Freshers:-

As a start-up firm, we always require an employee to be aware of multiple technologies along with good knowledge in at least one of them. In the event of hunting a potential candidate, a firm interviewed around 20 candidates in a batch, however, only 1 got selected. Hence to reach a target of 6 candidates more number of batches had to be interviewed. Following 4 days of the selection process, successfully the company recruited 6 candidates. Besides, a panel consisting of 4 experts remain engaged for all 4 days.

Time and Cost Involved in Hiring Process

Ø Interview panel experts: 4

Ø Invested time: 4 days

Investments By a Company Post Recruitment

Ø 3 mentors assigned for a team of 2 candidates. (Cost to company)

Ø Provided 3 to 6 months training along with industry experience. (Cost to company)

Ultimately, 3 to 6 months later, as per candidate capability, he/she becomes an asset for the company. This is the prime reason for candidates being paid less at recruitment.

Why 95% of B. Tech graduates couldn’t clear industrial interviews. Here the reasons are listed after analyzing through the interview process:

Academic Qualification Required:

Ø Below average scores or backlogs come under the unqualified list for job openings.

Technology Awareness:

Ø Candidates do not possess much knowledge about the latest technologies, thereby not knowing the direction to work upon.

Ø Due to deprivation of guidance some are not able to pursue the right way despite being aware of technologies. They become prey for training centers to get a job immediately after course completion.

Job Pressure After Course Completion:

Ø Unable to spot the right interest and guidance about the industrial standards during career-shaping. This gives rise to choosing inappropriate technology and job. Also, it paves the way to a long term loss. Additionally, candidates lack certifications and industrial projects experience.

Rush to Search Jobs:

Ø Students focus on job search, rather than enhancing skills. Out of this pressure, put in lots of money in training institutes to cope up with the competition in the job market. They still don’t get the right option.

Lack of Interpersonal Skills:

ØMany lack skills such as communication, presentation, leadership, decision making, team-work, and presence of mind.

Ø Resume preparation is another major issue that comes up due to the lack of such skills.

Unaware of Industrial Standards:

Ø Candidates are at times unaware of the adaptability needed to work in industries. Therefore, it depicts them as an inappropriate candidate.
